AR augmented reality…and not only…

My experience with AR has and continues to be awesome! While VR was developed almost 30 years ago, ( … time, date) AR is a more recent technology.

Metaio
one of the symbol of AR

At the end of 2011 I began using a software application titled AURASMA to create my first app in AR. After 4 months, I realized that AURASMA was not what I needed. I started exploring my options and found Metaio, a German company, with headquarters in San Francisco. Metaio created a software application to develop AR that blew my mind. The software is called “Metaio Creator”. When I visited San Francisco in 2012, I had the opportunity to meet the developer of “Metaio Creator”. Since that time, I have been using this software to develop AR.

I wasn’t the only one aware of Metaio Creator. In May 2015 Apple bought Metaio in order to use his software to develop AR.

The SMAU is the most important technology event in Italy. In 2013 I was invited by the SMAU to share my experience with AR. An interested audience asked all kind of questions. Most importantly they wanted to know how AR could change our future. My answer is always the same “Think how your smart phone changed your life… it works the same way… with this technology we have the power to have more information, beyond what we can see…it is like having a third eye”!

A slide of my speech in Smau 2013. In this slide there is the message that I sent in FB  to italian astronaut Luca Parmitano, when he was on board the ISS, and I asked him if he knowed the AR, and his answer was “No I don’t” and my answer  was “in future your helmet will be connected in AR. Two years ago… …Time…??? a company called Skully created Skully AR-1, that is one of the first helmet connected in Augmented Reality

Ar and VR sure will change our life…with these kinds of technologies is like entering in another world, where we have two important things:

more information (AR)+ more dimensions (VR) = Life…our Life…waoooo…

Sometimes I think it’s better for me change my work…maybe after a lot of years in the technology field…I need the power of nature…maybe…
